John & Carla Conner

MEET OUR PASTOR

Pastor John Conner was privileged to be raised in a godly home from his childhood. He was led to Christ in his home by his father, Clyde Conner, on a Sunday evening, July 7, 1985, and baptized the very next service on a Wednesday night, July 10, 1985.

After graduating from Christian school in 1997, he attended bible college in NW Indiana, where he would meet his wife, Carla. They were married July 31, 2004. God has blessed them with four beautiful children: three boys and one girl.

John and Carla served together for thirteen years in many ministries in a local Baptist church. They endured multiple trials and hardships, including loss of employment and health. God’s grace was manifested richly in their lives during these times!

In 2011, John felt the unmistakable call of God to the pastorate. The next six years brought different stages of growth and testing, and God was gracious through them all.

God finally led Pastor Conner to found Liberty Baptist Church on November 19, 2017.  What an exciting journey it has been!

YOUR FIRST VISIT

  • How can I find Liberty Baptist?

Our church is currently meeting at 3700 Lacon Road, Hilliard, OH 43026, in the basement suite. Enter under the small black awning (marked 3706), and the first door on the left will take you downstairs directly to our suite. There is also an elevator just down the hallway which allows handicap access to our suite.

  • When are the services?

Sunday School begins at 10:00 am with light breakfast and coffee available. We have classes for adults, young adults, teens and children. There is a nursery available for younger children for the duration of our services.

The Sunday morning service begins at 11:00 am in the main auditorium.

The Sunday evening service at 5:00 pm is a highlight for many. Always encouraging and challenging, it is a weekly appointment you’ll not want to miss!

Wednesday evening small groups start at 7:00 pm and are held in various classrooms. This refreshing time of Bible study is also coupled with a children’s program and nursery services.

  • What do I do once I arrive?

Relax! We’re here to serve you. If you’ve arrived in time for Sunday School at 10:00 am, our friendly greeters will meet you at the door and help direct you to the appropriate class room. We’ll have coffee and some breakfast items on Sunday mornings. Bring a Bible and an open heart!

  • Where do I take my children?

Here at Liberty, we have friendly greeters who will be pleased to show you our nursery for kindergarten age and below. School-age children have dedicated Sunday School classes on Sunday, Bible Clubs on Wednesday evening, and stay with parents/guardians for the main worship services.

  • What should I wear?

The truth of the matter is, there is no strict dress code for our public services! We want you to be comfortable and ready to concentrate on the message of God’s Word. You may find several in attendance will be wearing their “Sunday best.”  Our people will make you feel welcome!

  • What are the services like?

Although there are many things that are wrong in this world, our God is alive and well. He is a living Saviour, and we worship Him with an attitude of victory and thankfulness! We will open the service singing a great hymn of praise and worship found in our hymnals. It’s not uncommon for folks to lift a hand in worship or lift an extra word of praise to God during the song service. Our Lord is worthy!

Special music is always prepared by a variety of church members to enhance the services. These are also exciting songs that will encourage you and bring honor to Christ.

Prayer is a major part of the services at Liberty. We believe that God does everything in answer to prayer. We’ll open the meeting in prayer, and many times will offer prayer for special requests of our church family during the service. If you have a specific prayer request, we’d love to share your burden.

God’s Word is the answer to every problem we face. We believe that the Bible preaching is the most important part of every service. God’s Word has the power to comfort, correct, instruct, and repair any situation. Our preacher, Pastor John Conner, has committed his life to practicing and promoting the old-time religion. We make no apology for preaching the truth in love.

At the end of the preaching, Pastor Conner will ask everyone to stand and will give an invitation. This is a time for many to respond and make a life-changing decision by walking down the aisle and praying at the altar. A decision may be to trust Jesus Christ as personal Saviour or to consecrate a life to Christ. Whatever your decision may be, the altar is open to you to join others who are making decisions for Christ.

  • What if I need transportation?

We can provide transportation to LBC services for those in the Hilliard area. You can contact us for more details or read more about it on our ministries page.
